A message from Governor Jim Doyle

The start of a new heating season can place a heavy burden on low-income Wisconsin families.  As energy prices climb, hard-working families may be forced to choose between paying the heating bill and paying the grocery bill. The state of Wisconsin continues to work hard to increase heating assistance and weatherization programs and to make heating assistance information available to the families that need it.  This Website provides one-stop information on programs to help Wisconsin families heat, cool and weatherize their homes.

I’m working with other governors in the Midwest to lower our dependence on foreign oil and to address global warming while keeping energy affordable.  Our goal is to develop new energy technologies using home grown energy from our fields and forests to provide for our energy needs and to create high-paying jobs. As part of these efforts Wisconsin continues to be a national leader in providing energy conservation assistance, weatherization and financial assistance.  Recently with the help of our congressional delegation we secured a record amount of funds for our Low Income Energy Assistance Program.

No Wisconsin family should be forced to choose between their basic needs. I encourage you to take advantage of the programs and resources found on this Website throughout the year.
